Burn Out Syndrome
The term "burn-out syndrome" was coined in the 1970's by Herbert Freudenberger,
a New York psychoanalyst and is described as a state of physical and mental
exhaustion caused by one's professional life.
A supportive definition has also
recently been provided by The National
Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health ( USA ),
the federal
agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations
for the prevention of work related illnesses. It says, "perhaps now
more
than ever before, job stress poses a threat to the health of workers."
Burn-out Syndrome is described as :
1. |
a compulsion to prove oneself |
2. |

3. |

4. |

5. |

6. |
denial of emerging problems |
7. |

8. |

9. |

10. |
